New York, NY - Paris Hilton, the famous hotel heiress to the Hilton fortune, was angered by the ease with which visitors to Kazaa.com can freely download and share her sex video and has filed a copyright infringement suit against the company.

"When my client filmed those videos, she had no intention of it scattering across the Internet," said Hilton's attorney Keith Johnson. "Paris deserves retribution for loss of cash from this distribution. How can a girl make extra cash when her private smut is going around for free, rather than the standard retail value of $19.95?"

The suit alleges that Kazaa has violated three different areas of the law: copyright infringements, unlawful use of digital video interface device, and the Racketeering Influenced & Free Masturbation Act.

The suit also names the Columbia University, Rutgers College and president Dave Alperovich in their frequent daily downloads and viewings of the infamous video.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has sent cease-and-desist letters to school administrators and Mr. Alperovich advising them of the copyright violations involved. Mr. Alperovich, furious with the suit had nothing but harsh words in response.

"It's a shame when celebrities take advantage of decent individuals who want nothing more than to enjoy what was once private and sacred to another person."

Niklas Zennstrom founder of Kazaa and Chairman of The Federation for Free Porn (FFP) issued the successive statement following Hilton's lawsuit.

"We regret that Ms. Hilton's attorney saw fit to issue a press release -- and to file a lawsuit -- without even attempting to contact Kazaa. Many young women like Ms. Hilton have approached us, learned about Kazaa and the wonderful exposure we provide to the thousands of women who want to share their private sex tapes with the world."

While the video has awaken a sleeping giant Kazaa has no intention of shutting down its site.

"We are very excited of the project that will be surfacing on our site this year," said Zennstrom.

"Although we have hit a road block with Ms. Hilton, we are confident that her upcoming videos will be just as popular and with fewer lawsuits. Lets just hope that the horse involved will be more understanding."
